    Last week, the U.S. White House released a new report, “Mobilizing Federal Action on Plastic Pollution: Progress, Principles, and Priorities.” The report is a product of the Interagency Policy Committee on Plastic Pollution and a Circular Economy (IPC).

    Republic Services has been honoured with the National Waste & Recycling Association’s (NWRA) 2023 Sustainability Game Changer award for its Polymer Center, celebrating the facility’s approach to plastics circularity. The Polymer Center in Las Vegas is the first in a national network under development to enable greater circularity for rigid plastics and support sustainable packaging.

  • APR completes initial roll-out of PET, HDPE, PP packaging design recognition program

    The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) has succeeded in the initial roll-out of the Preferred Design Recognition (PDR) Program which enables brands, manufacturers, and converters to receive formal APR Design for Recyclability Recognition for any complete PET, HDPE, or PP package or packaging component that meets the APR’s definition of preferred according to the APR Design Guide for Plastics Recyclability. Following the addition of HDPE Packaging Constructs to the list of products eligible for PDR, additional categories will now be added in parallel to future APR Design Guide updates.
